Medoras Grand Ball

Hello Friends:

It is certainly a pleasure to be able to write today and personally invite you to join family, neighbors and friends as Medora marks its 125th year. This is an exciting year for North Dakota--and especially for Medora.

If you want to attend the ball (only 300 tickets will be sold), please fill out the reservation form and return by mail. Or, if you are in a hurry to have your table at the ball or spot on the dance floor reserved, you can call or email (numbers and addresses listed below/left). In any case, it will be a great time as we honor those who came before us, by recalling Medora’s history beginning in 1883.

The Tibor Brothers Band, a nationally known band from Hebron, ND, will provide the music at the dance. A grand march will take place beginning at 8:15 p.m. The dance is scheduled to begin about 8:30 p.m.

We are celebrating 125 years of history. Period dress (from any of the 125 years) is encouraged and would add to the festivities but is not required. Plan to be part of this historic celebration marking Medora’s 125th anniversary.

The Medora Ball is the unofficial kick-off to more milestones we are marking in Medora this year:

  • April 25-27: Dedication of the new Chateau de Mores State Historic Site Visitors Center (happening the weekend of the Medora Ball)
  • September 13: The 150th birthday of Theodore Roosevelt, our 26th president who lived and ranched in the Badlands of Billings County.
  • May 30-September 6: The 50th Anniversary of the Burning Hills Ampitheatre, home to the internationally acclaimed Medora Musical. Get out your dancing shoes and join us in Medora. Enjoy a great time. Hope to see you.
